The valley oak is now Healdsburg’s official city tree.
It was chosen by the Healdsburg City Council last week, after feedback from nearly 175 community members. The valley oak is commonly found at Fitch Mountain Park and Open Space Preserve and the Healdsburg Ridge Open Space Preserve. They are also common in the vineyards of the Alexander Valley.
Healdsburg joins Santa Rosa as the only cities in Sonoma County to have an official tree.
