The Petaluma Regional Library officially reopened on Monday after a year-long, $6.5 million renovation.
A large, enthusiastic crowd gathered for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, eager to see the upgrades. According to the Petaluma Argus Courier, the library, which is now open seven days a week, has been completely modernized with new furniture, carpets, and safety systems.
Library and city officials highlighted the importance of the public library as a democratic and welcoming space. Funding for the project came from a variety of sources, including a state grant and local bonds.
