A new report shows Santa Rosa City Schools must make another ten-to-15-million-dollars in cuts by early next year to avoid running out of cash.
Interim Superintendent Lisa August says the reductions are needed even after earlier layoffs and closures. County schools chief Amie Carter warned the district risks losing control of the 13-thousand-500-student system without immediate action.
Six schools are set to close by next June, and about 150 staff were laid off this past spring.
