The California Highway Patrol has concluded that speed caused the tragic April crash in Woodacre that killed four high school girls.
According to a report obtained by the San Francisco Chronicle, the 16-year-old driver was traveling at least 60 mph on a sharp, 40 mph turn when she lost control.
The Marin Independent Journal reports CHP found no evidence of another vehicle or intoxication. Citing the driver’s lack of experience at that speed, the CHP has recommended charges of gross vehicular manslaughter.
The Marin County District Attorney has not yet filed charges.
