About Krampus
Krampus is a figure from Alpine folklore. St. Nick and Krampus visit children on the night of Dec. 6, when St. Nick delivers gifts to good children, and Krampus delivers coal to naughty ones. Although Krampus appears in many variations, his common physical characteristics include brown or black hair, the hooves and horns of a goat, fangs, and a long, pointed tongue hanging out. It is customary to offer Krampus schnapps, a strong distilled fruit brandy.
