North Bay transportation leaders are demanding Caltrans immediately shorten the expanded carpool hours on Highway 101.
The Marin Independent Journal reports the Transportation Authority of Marin and Sonoma County Transportation Authority are sending a joint letter, arguing the new all-day hours, implemented in September, are causing major new congestion for commuters.
Caltrans says it needs six months to study the traffic before making changes, but leaders say drivers need relief now.
