After a decade of effort, a major hurdle has been cleared for a new, full-service community health center in Cloverdale.
The Press Democrat reports on Wednesday night, Senate President Mike McGuire announced the state is providing the final $3.5 million needed to advance construction of the new Alexander Valley Healthcare facility.
The $40 million project will replace outdated offices and end Cloverdale’s status as a healthcare desert. The new 40,000-square-foot clinic will offer expanded medical, dental, and behavioral health services, allowing the center to double its patients.
While about $3 million is still needed to finish the project, the critical state funding ensures the long-awaited project will now break ground.
