The YWCA Sonoma County successfully held its inaugural “After Hours” fundraiser on October 3rd at the MacRostie Winery Estate House in Healdsburg.
The Press Democrat reports the event raised a significant $40,000 to support the YWCA’s critical domestic violence services. YWCA CEO Madeleine Keegan O’Connell emphasized that the funds are desperately needed, noting the tragic rise in domestic violence incidents, which have resulted in 15 deaths across Sonoma County since last November.
The money will directly fund the YWCA’s confidential Safe House shelter and its 24/7 Domestic Violence Crisis Hotline at 707-546-1234, which has been answering calls for nearly 50 years.
