Sonoma County has a new leader for its main land use and development agency.
Scott Orr has been officially named the director of Permit Sonoma following a nationwide search. Orr is a veteran of the department, having spent nearly ten years working his way up from an entry-level planner to Deputy Director, and most recently, serving as interim director since July.
County Chief Executive Christina Rivera stated that Orr was chosen because of his deep familiarity with the planning world and his temperament to lead the department forward.
Permit Sonoma is responsible for reviewing and permitting all land development and construction in the unincorporated area of Sonoma County.
