A major bottleneck for California’s green energy goals may soon be cleared.
The North Bay Business Journal reports high costs and supply shortages have long stalled hydrogen-powered transit in the North Bay, but East Bay manufacturer K2 Pure Solutions plans to change that. The company is investing $30 million to capture hydrogen byproduct at its Pittsburg plant, aiming to become the state’s lowest-cost producer.
Starting in 2026, the project will provide a much-needed local fuel source for zero-emission trucks and buses, cutting down on expensive out-of-state imports.
