Animal Rights Activist Released From Jail To Finish Felony Sentence On House Arrest

Animal rights activist Zoe Rosenberg has been released from Sonoma County jail after serving 14 days of a felony conspiracy sentence.

According to the Press Democrat, the 23-year-old was convicted following a 2023 incursion at Petaluma Poultry. While originally sentenced to 90 days, Rosenberg received early release for good behavior. She is scheduled to serve the remaining 60 days of her sentence under strict house arrest starting January 14th.

In a statement, Rosenberg compared her time in custody to the animals she advocates for, saying the experience has made her more determined. Local farm operators, however, have pushed for the prosecution of such activists, and the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office issued a firm reminder that those who come into the county to commit crimes will be arrested.
