Due To Leadership Changes Santa Rosa’s Rose Parade Has Been Canceled

Santa Rosa’s historic Rose Parade is going on hiatus once again, with organizers officially canceling the 2026 event.

Per the Press Democrat, the decision comes as Board Chair Terry Sanders steps down, leaving the organization to rethink its leadership and financial structure to ensure the century-old tradition can survive for the long term.

While the parade saw a successful comeback over the last two years, organizers say they currently lack the resources and steady leadership needed to pull off another successful run this May.

They are calling this a “pause” rather than an end, hoping new community energy and fresh leadership will step forward to bring the floats and marching bands back to downtown in the future.
