One of Santa Rosa’s oldest community spaces is getting a major facelift.
The City Council has unanimously approved a multimillion-dollar master plan to upgrade Martin Luther King Jr. Park near the fairgrounds. After a year of community input, the park is set to receive a new futsal hardcourt, improved lighting, and a revamped soccer field.
Families can also look forward to new play areas, expanded green space, and original public art.
City officials say the project aims to modernize the historic park while creating a safer, more vibrant gathering spot for the neighborhood.
