Bay Area Braces for Round Three: Widespread Showers Returning Wednesday Night

The Bay Area is catching a brief breather this morning after a night of thunder, lightning, and heavy rain, but a third winter storm is already knocking on the door.

Per the Bay Area News Group, forecasters expect widespread showers to return tonight and persist through Thursday morning, bringing gusty winds and another round of chilly temperatures to the region.

While the coast deals with rain, the Sierra remains under a winter storm warning following a massive blizzard that dropped six feet of snow and triggered a terrifying avalanche near Truckee.

Most major mountain highways, including I-80 and Highway 50, remain closed as crews work to clear the roads before the next system arrives later today.
