Santa Rosa’s Safe Parking Program To Run Through June 2027

A critical lifeline for Santa Rosa’s unhoused residents will remain open thanks to a last-minute $1 million funding boost from Sonoma County.

The Press Democrat reports the “safe parking” program on Stony Point Road, operated by Catholic Charities, was just weeks away from winding down before this windfall secured its operations through June 2027.

The program provides a secure place for about 50 people to park their vehicles while accessing meals, medical care, and housing navigation services. While the new funding offers immediate relief for those currently on the waitlist, city officials note that the long-term future of the site still depends on finding a permanent funding solution beyond 2027.
