Redwood Empire Food Bank Settles Labor Lawsuit

The Redwood Empire Food Bank is paying 575-thousand dollars to settle a labor lawsuit.

The lawsuit was filed in 2021, by a former employee who claimed the nonprofit broke state labor laws. Dashawn Love, a former transportation coordinator, claimed the food bank did not pay him both regular and overtime wages.

He also claimed it did not provide required meal breaks or maintain accurate payroll records. Love worked at the Santa Rosa-based food bank between May and October of 2020.
