Parents are pressuring the Sebastopol school board for more accountability in its anti-racism efforts.
According to a report from the Press Democrat, at a meeting this week, parents and community members said that while the district has introduced new initiatives and trainings, it still lacks clear consequences for students who use racial slurs. The discussion follows months of frustration from a family whose child was subjected to repeated racist incidents.
The board president said trustees are committed to continued engagement with the community on the issue.
