Sonoma County’s Largest Pop-Up Used Book Sale Benefits Five Sonoma County Libraries

From Friday, October 3 to Monday, October 6, Veterans Memorial Hall in Santa Rosa will be transformed into Sonoma County’s largest pop-up used book sale. During this four-day event, the all-volunteer Friends of the Santa Rosa Libraries will offer 50,000 gently used books and media for purchase. Most books, DVDs and CDs are $2 and children’s books are just $1! Half-price day Sunday 10/5 means most books are $1 and kids books 50 cents! And there’s $5 Bag day on Monday 10/6. Fill as many grocery-sized bags as you like for $5 each. Books and bargains are a great combination!

Proceeds from past sales have made it possible for Friends of the Santa Rosa Libraries to donate $100,000 to the new Roseland Library and to fund numerous projects at four Santa Rosa libraries in the Sonoma County Library system (Central, Northwest, Rincon Valley and Roseland) as well as the Sonoma County History and Genealogy Library.

The 2025 Big Book Sale runs from Friday, October 3 through Monday, October 6 at Veterans Memorial Hall, 1351 Maple Avenue in Santa Rosa. Parking is free. Dates and hours are as follows: Friday, October 3 from 1-3 pm is Members-only Preview (individual memberships are $10 and available at the door, starting at noon). The sale is free and open to the public: Friday, October 3 from 3-7 pm; Saturday, October 4 from 10 am – 5 pm; Half-price Day Sunday, October 5 from 10 am – 4 pm; and $5 Bag Day Monday, October 6 from 2-6 pm.
