The Santa Rosa Police Department is urging families to participate in the National Walk and Roll to School Day today, October 8th.
The event promotes exercise and the need for safer walking and biking routes to school. The SRPD stresses the need for driver vigilance in school zones, especially with increased pedestrian traffic.
They also issued key safety tips for students, including always wearing a helmet, looking left-right-left before crossing, and avoiding distractions.
