The Petaluma Police Department is stressing safety after a recent traffic operation focused on protecting cyclists and pedestrians.
The Petaluma Argus-Courier reports the all-day enforcement effort on September 26th resulted in a total of 26 citations being issued. Officers conducted 41 traffic stops, which included vehicle drivers, bicyclists, and one pedestrian. Police reported that 25 of the 26 citations went to vehicle drivers.
Violations targeted included speeding, illegal turns, failing to stop at signs, and failing to yield right-of-way to bikers and walkers.
