Santa Rosa Police have arrested a man following a stabbing that left the victim in critical condition.
On Tuesday evening, officers responded to the 20 block of Third Street, where a 26-year-old man was stabbed in the torso. The suspect, Robert Mendoza, 27, fled the scene but was quickly located in the downtown area. A foot chase ended when K9 “Roco” apprehended Mendoza near Fifth Street.
Mendoza was treated for lacerations and subsequently booked into Sonoma County Jail for Attempted Murder and an outstanding felony warrant.
The victim remains hospitalized, and the investigation is ongoing.
