SRPD Makes Multiple Arrests For Gang-Related Assault & Attempted Robbery

The Santa Rosa Police Department has made multiple arrests following a violent gang-related assault and attempted robbery at the Santa Rosa Plaza in late August.

On August 29th, an 18-year-old Santa Rosa man was assaulted in the food court after refusing to surrender his expensive shoes to multiple suspects. The victim sustained significant facial fractures.

The SRPD’s Gang Crimes Team (GCT) took over the investigation, using surveillance to identify the assailants, who are believed to be affiliated with a local criminal street gang.  Two arrests have been made: Kolby Butler, 20, was arrested on September 22nd. A 17-year-old male was arrested on September 30th.

Charges, including Assault with Great Bodily Injury and Attempted Robbery, have also been requested for a third suspect, Matthew Rosser, 18.

The arrests are attributed to the ongoing work of the reinstated Gang Crimes Team.
