New Advocacy Group Formed To Sway Public Opinion On Appellation Petaluma Project

Proponents of the controversial Appellation Petaluma luxury hotel have formed a new advocacy group, Renaissance Petaluma, launching an energetic campaign to sway public opinion.

The Petaluma Argus-Courier reports led by local business owners and celebrity chef Charlie Palmer, supporters rallied, emphasizing the economic boost and prestige the 82-room hotel would bring downtown. However, the project is currently blocked by a voter referendum initiated by historical preservation groups.

Palmer defended the necessary six-story height as crucial for financing, while admitting parking remains an unresolved issue before the final vote.
