The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man killed in a December 26th crash involving a car and an electric scooter.
Police say 61-year-old Eric Johnson, of Rohnert Park, was riding a motorized scooter when he was struck by a Chevrolet Tahoe around 8:10 a.m. at the intersection of Santa Rosa Avenue and El Portal Way.
Santa Rosa Avenue was closed for about four hours following the crash. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene, and police say he did not appear to be wearing a helmet.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
