A massive fire in Petaluma Sunday caused an estimated $6 million dollars in damage to Protein Products, a company that produces livestock food by using fly larvae.
Crews fought the fire on Jewett Road for about 90 minutes, but stayed on the scene all day.
Two 400 foot long buildings, 10,000 pounds of food, computers and equipment were all destroyed.
Protein Products, which sells fly larvae products for animals under the name Hermetia Protein, was founded in 2018… and according to the owners, did not have fire insurance.
