Crystal Geyser Closing

After 48 years in business, Calistoga’s Crystal Geyser Water Company is shutting down on January 31st, laying off it’s remaining 28 employees. Crystal Geyser was acquired by a Japanese Conglomerate in 1991, and has been scaling back production over this year, even as it had invested over $3 million in renovations and was approved for a 10,000 square foot expansion. A letter from the company says it was longer financially feasible for the company to participate in a highly competitive, low-priced market for sparkling water products.
