The city of Santa Rosa has announced phase 2 of the road diet on Steele Lane is about to begin. Last year one lane was removed in front of Steele Lane Elementary to allow safe student drop offs and slow vehicle traffic. Now, another lane will be removed in the eastbound direction, a two-way turn lane will be added and a protected bike lane will be added in the westbound direction. Changes will be in place by the start of the school year.
